Starfish Connection

About

The mission of Starfish Connection is to address Stamford’s academic achievement gap by providing long-term mentoring, after-school and summer enrichment programs, and educational support to promising students from the city’s underserved families. We pair a mentor with a student, one-on-one to provide these resources. These mentors meet their students in the student’s 3rd grade year. This allows the mentor and student to forge a lasting connection providing a network of encouragement and support all the way until the student’s graduation from high school. Our goal is to ensure these students reach their potential and dreams of attending competitive 4-year colleges, breaking the cycle of poverty for themselves and future generations.
